Medicare Direct Account Password Management

The Medicare Direct Account Password Management screen is used to manage the password and PIN for Medicare Direct accounts that the system uses to submit claims. Accounts must first be created in the Medicare Direct Account Management screen for them to appear in the Medicare Direct Account Password Management summary grid.

Note: This screen is not used to update or change the Password or PIN directly with Medicare. The Password and PIN entered in these fields must already be assigned by Medicare.

The summary grid displays the user's Medicare User Name, Account Status, and Temporary Account indicator. To add or remove columns from the summary grid, right-click in the column area and select Arrange Columns.

Manage Account Passwords

To add or update Password and PIN information:

  1. Select an account in the summary grid and click the Edit Password/PIN button at the bottom of the screen. This option is also available from the grid's context (right-click) menu. The Medicare Direct Edit Password/PIN screenopens in a new window.
  2. Enter the new or updated Password and PIN information. A Password is required when configuring new accounts.
    • The User Name is not editable.
    • Medicare Direct Passwords must be 8 characters.
    • Medicare Direct PINs must be 4 numeric characters.
  3. Click Save to commit changes, or Cancel to close the screen without saving changes.
