User IP Restrictions

The User IP Restrictions menu option allows system administrators to prevent a user from accessing the system from any workstation whose IP address is not defined on this screen. For example, to restrict a specific user from logging in from anywhere except their workplace, you would deny the Login from AnywhereUser-Level Privilege and enter on this screen the workplace IP addresses that are allowed.

Note that if the privilege is denied at the site level, the IP restriction(s) apply to all users of that site, and you must set Site IP Restrictions instead.

Important: If the user privilege is denied, and the list of valid IP addresses is empty, the user will not be able to log in at all.

Set IP Addresses

Enter the IP addresses from which the user is allowed to log in.

  • Select the user's name from the drop-down list. Current IP addresses for that user will display in the Existing IP Addresses list.
  • Type the IP address into the Add New IP Address field(s). Use the Tab key to move to each space.
  • Select the 2nd Address check box to indicate that the IP address in Line 2 is a netmask.
  • Click Add to add the IP addresses to the Existing IP Addresses list.
  • To remove an IP address, select it in the Existing IP Addresses list and click Remove.
