User Assignment Privileges

The User Assignment Privilege gives supervisors the ability to grant specific access to users to enable them to assign claims directly to other users.

To access the User Assignment Privilege, first access the User-Level Privileges (Admin>XClaim>User XClaim Privs). Select a user name in the drop-down list, then select the Assign Claims privilege. The Set Direct Edit Privileges link appears at the bottom right of the screen. Click this link to open the User Assignment Privileges screen.

The User Assignment Privileges screen displays the selected user's name at the top of the screen, with assignment options per Group name. Use the expand/collapse buttons next to the Group name to access the assignment options. Select the appropriate assignment options for the user:

  • No Assignment Privileges: Selected user cannot assign tasks to the group or users within that group. Click the Remove All button at the bottom of the screen to set the 'No Assignment Privileges' option for all groups.

  • Group-level Only: User can assign tasks to the group, but not to individual users in that group. These claims appear in the group supervisor's Reassign folder.

  • Directly Assign to: User can assign tasks to selected users in the group. Click the Select All button at the bottom of the screen to set the 'Directly Assign to [All Users]' option for all groups.

Use the Reset button to revert any changes made since the last Save. Click Save to save any changes, and Close to return to the User-Level Privileges screen.

Assign Claims Privilege

The Assign Claims privilege allows users to reassign only to the users/groups selected in the User Assignment Privileges. If you do not have the Assign Claims privilege, the Assign menu item will be grayed out or not in the menu at all. If you are not a supervisor, do not have the Assign Claims privilege, and you attempt to reassign a claim, the claim will go into your group’s reassign folder under your user name.

With this feature, when you assign a claim, the user/group assignment information is saved in a database.  If you click the “Apply user and group from reassignment request” option, the assignment information will be populated based on your previous assigning options.

If you are supervisor attempting to assign a claim from the Reassign folder to a user that you are not allowed to assign to, the following message will be displayed:

“The following claim ID(s) were not reassigned: 12345. Make sure you have assignment privileges for the intended user/group.”
